GENERAL MANAGER, ENGINEERING

Job Description

You are expected to be appointed to function as the Accountable Manager for GBA’s Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC) maintenance support matters including continuing airworthiness management who has the authority for overseeing maintenance support of the aircraft under the AOC, Accountable Manager of HKAR-145 to ensure that all maintenance carried out under GBA HKAR-145 approval meets the required and approved standards, and Accountable Manager of HKAR-181 on airworthiness review and maintenance review of each aircraft in the fleet.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensures maintenance standards are maintained to provide safe operation and continuing airworthiness of GBA aircraft
  • Manages and controls the overall allocation of budget for Engineering Department
  • Manages, monitors and audits of all contracted services providers for aircraft maintenance and servicing
  • Ensures availability of the facilities, personnel, equipment, and other resources, as necessary, for the implementation of maintenance management
  • Be responsible and accountable for the management of safety and security risks in maintenance operations, ensuring maintenance is conducted in accordance with conditions and restriction of the AOC, and in compliance with applicable regulations and Company Standards
  • Perform any other duties as assigned 

Requirements:

  • Degree holder in relevant discipline, e.g. Aeronautical, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, Avionics or other relevant studies, or aircraft maintenance technician with additional education acceptable to GBA
  • Minimum 15 years or above relevant working experience, including 10 years in the aeronautical industry and appropriate management experience
  • Thorough familiarity with the organization’s Maintenance Management Exposition, maintenance methods and aircraft types to be operated under the AOC
  • This position must be acceptable to the HKCAD
  • Knowledge of Safety Management Systems
  • Ability to work effectively across functions at all levels
  • Strategic vision, analytical thinking, critical reasoning, and sound financial understandingExhibit sound problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Solid leadership and project management skills
