ASSISTANT MANAGER, CARGO SALES AND SERVICES
Job Description
You are expected to support cargo revenue growth and customer satisfaction by coordinating sales activities and service delivery, managing customer/agent relationships, and working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth bookings, on-time uplift, and effective service recovery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive Hong Kong direct cargo sales performance by executing account plans, growing key accounts, and delivering revenue/tonnage/yield targets
- Manage and optimise customer service delivery across booking-to-uplift, ensuring fast response, service recovery, and customer satisfaction for Hong Kong accounts
- Oversee overseas GSA commercial performance through target setting, forecasting, pipeline reviews, and corrective actions to achieve market KPIs
- Establish a structured GSA governance cadence (monthly scorecards, business reviews, action tracking) and ensure timely, accurate market reporting
- Introduce and implement a sales/service management system (process + simple tools/templates) to track accounts, pipeline, forecasting, and performance dashboards
- Coordinate closely with internal stakeholders (operations, load planning, pricing/revenue, finance) to align capacity, pricing actions, and service commitments
- Monitor market/competitor intelligence and recommend tactical initiatives (product focus, trade-lane targeting, promotions) to protect and grow share
- Ensure compliance and commercial controls by enforcing policies, delegated authority discipline, documentation standards, and audit readiness for HK and GSAs
- Perform any other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
- Holder of a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics/Supply Chain, Aviation Management, International Trade, or related discipline
- Minimum 4 years’ relevant experience in air cargo sales, cargo customer service, revenue/capacity management support, or freight forwarding (air)
- Experience in managing external partners (e.g., GSAs, agents, distributors) through targets, reporting, and performance improvement
- Experience in operating in a fast-paced station environment with close coordination between commercial and operations (booking-to-uplift, disruptions, re-accommodation, claims/irregularities)
- Strong understanding of air cargo commercial fundamentals: pricing/yield basics, allotment and ad-hoc space management, lane/commodity mix, and customer segmentation
- Familiarity with special cargo concepts (e.g., pharma/perishables/express/e-commerce) is an advantage
- Awareness of cargo compliance requirements (dangerous goods awareness, security screening concepts, export/import trade compliance) is preferred
- Fluent in written and oral of English and Chinese, Mandarin proficiency is strongly preferred
- High integrity and compliance mindset; able to apply delegated authority and commercial controls consistently
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
