Tohoku Tourism Promotion Organization
Introduction
The Tohoku Tourism Promotion Organization works in partnership with the prefectures of Aomori, Iwate, Miyagi, Akita, Yamagata, Fukushima, and Niigata to promote the Tohoku region, located in the northern part of Japan.
Tohoku is known for its striking seasonal changes and natural beauty, offering views of traditional landscapes, distinctive Onsen, and rich local cuisine.
For people in Hong Kong, Tohoku holds exactly the kind of beauty, depth, and authentic experiences they seek in Japan.
Features
In Tohoku, you can experience the full beauty of all four seasons.
In spring, cherry blossoms bloom gradually from south to north over the course of a month.
Summer brings deep greenery and passionate local festivals.
Autumn colours the mountains with brilliant shades of red and yellow.
In winter, entire mountain landscapes are covered in rime ice, creating what are known as “snow monsters.”
Blessed with abundant nature, Tohoku is also a treasure trove of food.
It offers the largest variety of branded Wagyu in Japan, as well as fresh seafood, a wide selection of seasonal fruits, and premium Sake made with pure water and carefully cultivated rice.
The region is also home to many hot springs.
You will find quiet Onsen villages tucked into the mountains, nostalgic and retro-inspired bathhouses, and springs located close to city centres while still offering a peaceful natural setting.
Each one provides its own distinctive atmosphere.
Tohoku offers many experiences that cannot be found anywhere else.
We warmly welcome visitors from Hong Kong to discover all that this unique region has to offer.
