Greater Bay Airlines to operate seasonal flights to Kunming in September and October

(24 June 2026) Greater Bay Airlines (GBA) will launch a seasonal service between Hong Kong and Kunming starting 3 September until 22 October this year to meet the demand of autumn travellers for direct travel to Yunnan. The new route will operate three roundtrip flights per week between Hong Kong and Kunming Changshui International Airport.

Kunming, the capital city of Yunnan Province, is renowned for its year-round pleasant climate and is often referred to as the “City of Eternal Spring”, appealing to many domestic and international visitors throughout the year. This highland city features a unique blend of rich ethnic minority cultures and magnificent natural landscapes, serving as a key transportation hub connecting to other popular destinations in Yunnan.

Kunming is also home to a wide range of tourist attractions, including the Stone Forest Scenic Area, a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site famous for its distinctive karst formations; Dianchi Lake, known as the “Pearl of the Plateau”, surrounded by picturesque mountains; Yunnan Ethnic Village, which showcases the traditional architecture and customs of the province’s diverse ethnic groups; and Kunming Old Street, where visitors can experience the city’s historic charm while enjoying a variety of local delicacies.
