Job Description
We are inviting applications for the position of General Manager, Ground Services from suitably qualified candidates with sound airport operations background and experience, to play a crucial role as a key member of the senior management team in the Ground Services functions of the airline to ensure operational efficiency and service quality are maintained throughout the entire service delivery chain, including for passenger and baggage, and ramp and cargo.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as an AOC post holder for the airline, and ensure the safety and security of its airport ground services fully comply with AOC, CAD, IATA, and all other regulatory authorities’ rules and regulations
- Lead and manage the airline’s ground handling suppliers at HKG and outport stations to deliver targeted performance outcomes in all areas of safety, compliance, cost control and operational performance
- Manage risk tolerability regarding the safety and security of ground operation activities
- Monitor safety and security trends and performance, and initiate appropriate mitigation
- Ensure the development & delivery of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and that the SOP are the best practice in the industry and suitable for the airline’s operations
- Maintain, improve, and achieve On-Time-Performance (OTP) within the Ground Services function’s accountable areas
- Work closely with relevant departments in instilling a quality and safety system and culture, and in management of flight disruptions
- Undertake outport station visits to provide setup support and conduct operational reviews and training, and monitor stations' performance to ensure cost control targets are achieved
Requirements
- Hong Kong permanent resident status
- Holder of a bachelor’s degree or above
- A minimum of 20 years’ airport experience in all areas of airport operations including both passenger and baggage, and at least 5 of which in a senior management capacity
- Knowledge of all aspects of Ground Operation (including Cargo) and IOSA requirements
- Comprehensive knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and familiarity with quality systems
- Project management skills and facilitation, with the ability to drive large scale initiatives
- Excellent command of both oral and written English and Chinese
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Strong leadership and business acumen, results driven
