Job Description
Reporting to the General Manager, Human Resources (GMHR), the position of Deputy General Manager, Human Resources will assist GMHR in overseeing all aspects of the human resources and administration function, playing a leadership role in managing and continuously developing the human resource capabilities of the airline. The successful candidate will also be a key player in formulating, driving, and implementing HR strategies in line with the Company’s strategic direction, and deputise for GMHR in her absence.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the formulation and implementation of talent attraction, development and retention strategies to build the long-term internal capabilities of the airline and a strong leadership and succession pipeline
- Ensure the recruitment and selection process is carried out timely and efficiently in support of the airline’s business strategy
- Ensure the compensation and benefits structure & policies remain effective and flexible to motivate performance, and market competitive for attracting and retaining high calibre talents
- Oversee the design and implementation of an organisation development strategy and initiatives encompassing competencies and skills training and management development programmes
- Ensure the performance management system is effective in aligning staff performance to the Company’s strategic objectives
- Review and enhance the HR policies, systems and processes on a continued basis to ensure the HR functions are performed productively and efficiently
- Participate in formulating annual and periodic budgets and forecasts for the Department in line with corporate fleet plan
- Manage internal stakeholders to obtain buy-in and support for driving execution of the HR strategies and policies
- Deputise for the General Manager, Human Resources, in her absence, and assist in effectively leading, inspiring and managing the HR team with a clear strategy and direction
Requirements
- Hong Kong permanent resident status
- A bachelor’s degree or above in Human Resources or a related field
- A minimum of 20 years’ human resource experience preferably in the aviation industry, and at least 8 of which in a senior management capacity
- Proven experience of leading the HR function and driving organisational change in sizable organisations
- An excellent track record of formulating HR strategies and policies
- Excellent command of both oral and written English and Chinese, proficiency in Putonghua is an added advantage
- People oriented, possessing excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Strong leadership and business acumen
