Greater Bay Airlines introduces seasonal service to Urumqi this autumn

(4 June 2026) Greater Bay Airlines (GBA) will introduce a seasonal service to Urumqi between 3 September and 7 October 2026 to meet the strong demand for the autumn travel season. The new route will operate three roundtrip flights per week between Hong Kong and Urumqi Tianshan International Airport.

Urumqi is the capital of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, boasting breathtaking natural landscapes and a profound cultural heritage. The city features a wealth of tourist attractions, including Urumqi Tianshan Grand Canyon, a national 5A-level scenic area celebrated for its majestic canyons and snow-capped alpine peaks; Urumqi Salt Lake Scenic Area, acclaimed as Xinjiang’s “Mirror of the Sky”, offering stunning, crystal-clear reflections of the sky and surrounding mountains; Hongshan Park, a symbolic landmark composed of distinct reddish-purple rock where visitors can ascend for the panoramic views of the entire city. In addition, the Xinjiang International Grand Bazaar is also a must go for travellers, offering a vibrant cultural atmosphere alongside an array of authentic local delicacies and unique merchandise.
